During the first three weeks of March I participated in an Ultimate Frisbee City League in Amsterdam. We met every Tuesday and played Ultimate for a couple hours. A couple Americans also joined, including Dan and Tyler, but most of the participants were Dutch. This was a very good way to meet new people and especially new people from Amsterdam. Every week was very enjoyable as we ran around and threw Frisbees and had fun. The league's skill level ranged from beginner to expert. I would label myself as a beginner because I was not very good, but my team was! It turns out my team won the tournament the last week, but I could not make it because I was in Spain.
What really struck me the most about playing Ultimate with these people was how nice they were to each other while playing. Everyone was having a good time. Also at the end of each game, both teams formed a huddle together and each team took turns thanking each other for the game. I thought this was really cool because normally teams just shake hands once finished and that is it. But here was different, we thanked each other and also shook hands. I am really glad I participated in this league and had a lot of fun.
